Followup: Returning to the Ridgeline
One week after the recording, I drove back up the access road alone. Here's what I found in daylight.
The road was washed out a half mile before the original spot. I parked and walked. Tracks in the mud — too long for elk, wrong gait for bear. I made casts of the two clearest impressions and bagged a clump of dark hair from a low branch at roughly six and a half feet. Sample is at the lab. More when I have it.
